Engineer Wood:

Engineer wood refers to a floor which planks or strips are made up of layers of different woods, usually carrying a higher quality as the top layer. The adavantage of this type of flooring is that the layers help the material against expanding and contracting caused by heat and humidity. The installation options include floating, glued down, stapled or nailed depending on the strip's thickness.

In our case we use a top leayer of 3/16 and up instead of the common 1/16 layers, this enables you to sand your floor without damaging the other layers and makes your floor more durable.

Engineer is cheaper than solid wood and it comes with a 25 year warranty.
